Tamil movie - Indiralohathil Na Azhagappan Preview

>> Monday 28 January, 2008

Indiralogathil Na Azhagappan’ is the most anticipated film at present. The movie has a hilarious story which puts mythological and real life characters together.

The movie has triggered much anticipation, as this is the second film after ‘Imsai Arasan 23am Pulikesi’, in which the leading comedian Vadivelu plays the lead role(s). Thambi Ramaiyya, who has penned comedy tracks to Vadivelu in many films, directs ‘Indiralogathil Na Azhagappan’. Seventh Channel Narayanan produces the movie.

The story is inspired by an old Tamil film ‘Rambaiyin Kaathal’. The director has taken the concept of the film and adapted it to suit today’s trend and taste, utilizing Vadivelu’s multi dimensional talents. The movie has Vadivelu handling three different roles, two of which are mythological characters. He appears in eleven different get ups in the film.

The storyline is simple: Azhagappan, who goes to the Yama Logam (the kingdom of Yama, the god that handles the death of everyone), challenges Yama and Indra (the chief of heaven) in his own style. His confrontations with Yama and Indra (both played by Vadivelu himself), and his meetings with the heavenly beauties like Ramba and Menaka make a non stop comedy fare.

The comedian has meticulously worked for this film. The grand costumes including the crown and armor worn by him weigh up to 50 KGs. He has dubbed in three different voices for the three roles.

Vadivelu has lost huge money because of ‘Indiralogathil Na Azhagappan’. He had declined many offers because of this commitment. First he gave 70 days of call sheet. Later it was extended to 100 days. He did not accept many films in the meantime, as he decided to keep focused on the film.

The item number that features the sensuous Shriya adds sensation to the movie. The film also has Suja and Laksha dancing for peppy songs.

Sabesh Murali’s music and Gopi’s camera work add strength to the film. But it is the fabulous work by art director Thotta Tharani, which is said to be the highlight of the movie.
